2017 is almost over and the best-selling games of the year will almost certainly not change much by the time December's NPD numbers are in.
The NPD tracks US video game sales, counting both digital and physical copies sold across top game publishers, giving us a pretty clear picture of how well the year's biggest games have performed---though we sadly have little to no information about how much these games' budgets.
In any case, now that we've seen November's numbers, we can safely say that Call of Duty: WWII is the best-selling game not only of the month. It will likely remain the best-selling game for months to come and stay on the rotating 12-months list well into 2018 and perhaps throughout the year. It's also the best-selling game over the course of the last 12 months, knocking Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare down to sixth place.
There's also one game that originally launched years ago still on the best-selling list. Bet you can guess which one.
Here are the best-selling games of 2017 so far:
- Call of Duty: WWII
- Destiny 2**
- NBA 2K18
- Madden NFL 18
