A North Korean company has released a new 3-D shooting game that allows players to take aim at American soldiers.
The video game, which bears the unsubtle title “Hunting Yankee”, was promoted on the state-run media outlet, Arirang Meari, which reported that it has recently “become very popular” in the pariah state.
“The 3-D amusement entertainment programme ‘Hunting Yankee’ is a fighting game of shooting and knocking down Yankees with a sniper gun… behind enemy lines,” it said.
“Users can perform a variety of special actions in a virtual world reminded of a cliff-hanger battle scene.”
A promotional photo showed what appears to be a US soldier being shot and killed, with another photo depicting a soldier in the gun’s crosshairs, said English-language media outlet, NKNews, which first reported the story.
